Lessons

I offer lessons in the Chicago area to students from 3 years old to adult, from beginner to advanced, using a combination of the Suzuki method and my own personal brand of education. I believe students learn best by ear when just beginning to play the violin, as learning the proper hold for the instrument and bow can be hampered by learning to read notes at the same time. That being said I also feel that learning to read music is very important and should be started as soon as possible after the age of 7.

Testimonials

We love Ethan! In addition to being a wonderful person and a great role model for our son, he is an excellent violinist and teacher. It’s a joy to hear him playing with and spurring our son onto evermore complex pieces and techniques. We couldn’t recommend him more highly!

Thank you for being a great violin teacher, and being so supportive. It’s a really great instrument, and you helped me improve at each song. I like to try different techniques, and to get a better sound and intonation. You’re very talented!
